I would like to first thank you all for your patience as we get this site back up and running. We are hoping in the near future to switch from using Google's Blog Spot to hosting our own blog. This will give us more control over the design and the layout.
In the meantime, we would however much appreciate your feedback on the current design and any ideas on how we could better layout the page. We have tried to group all of our sponsors down towards the bottom of the page.
In order to support this site, please be sure to download our toolbar. Our toolbar provides a safe an effective way to browse the internet and do Google searches. We also have included internet radio, email notification, a privacy filter, and current weather information. You also have the ability to read news feeds through the toolbar. To download and install our toolbar click HERE!
We are anticipating that daily blogging will begin by next week as we gather ideas and information on topics to write about in this blog. If you have any suggestions on topics you would like to see us write about or if you have comments please email Jacob@TheTechSpot.org

Coming Soon... Again...
I know that it has been a while since our last post, but things are about to change.
We are going to start posting daily information on technology from around the globe. From reviews on hardware and software, to information on the latest gadgets; we will become your online source for any and all information regarding technology. We will also continue to provide up-to date information on keeping your PC running in tip-top shape as well as information on the latest threats to you and your computer.
We always encourage our readers to email any and all questions they may have about products and services, even if they are just seeking an opinion. Questions can be about any topic, product or service relating to the technology field. If we've never heard about it, we'll study it and give you a no-nonsense response.
Please feel free to contact us at Jacob@TheTechSpot.org

Old Hard Drives
"Sensitive Data Left on Old Hard Drives. Surveys reveal widespread failures to remove sensitive data from old hard drives."
We pulled this title off an article from PC World. Everyday people across America fall victim to identity theft. One easy way to protect yourself against becoming a victim is to ensure that your old hard drives are either destroyed or wiped clean. Consumers are unaware of the ease of recovering data off of their discarded hard drives.
Your computer may retain vital information such as old email, passwords, credit card numbers, and in some cases your social security number and date of birth. We offer to all our clients who purchase a new computer free data wiping of their old drives. We also encourage our customers to destroy their hard drives rather than donate them along with their PC.
As always, if you have any questions, we encourage you to call and ask.

MySpace
BEWARE!!!
Here is something that avid users of MySpace should be aware of:
"Malware installed by fake MySpace navigation bars has infected several thousand PCs, according to the SANS Institute."
To read the full article go here:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,133573-pg,1/article.html
If you do end up reading the full article, it mentions that the predators of this attack only gained access to those people using Internet Explorer who had NOT installed recent Windows updates. This proves even more how important it is to make sure Windows and your Anti-Virus are up to date.
